Mental Health Month NSW Small Grants

Mental Health Association NSW has small grants available for the general community as well as for Aboriginal, Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) & Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual & intersex (LGBTI) communities. These grants are aimed to help support community activities to be held during the month of October.

Department of Social Services (DSS) Grants

The Department of Social Services (DSS) Grants are now open for applications. There are 15 Grant categories with:

  • 11 Grants in the Families and Communities Programme
  • 2 Grants in the Disability, Mental Health and Carers Programme
  • 1 Grant in the Housing and Homelessness Programme
  • 1 Grant in the Ageing and Service Improvement Programme

NSW Community Building Partnership Grants

The Community Building Partnership program funds the building and improvement of local community facilities. Applicants should demonstrate how their project will benefit their local community through the building or improvement of facilities to deliver positive social, recreational or environmental outcomes. Projects should be ready to commence by early 2015 and be completed before the end of March 2016.

Future2 Make the Difference! Grants

Future2 Make the Difference! Grants are designed for the benefit of socially and financially disadvantaged young Australians, aged from 12 to 25 years. Community not-for-profits and charities working to give a better future to young Australians who are living with disadvantage may apply for grants.

Eligible grant applicants:

  • Charities with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status
  • Registered charities, or
  • Not-for-profit organisations

In 2014 for the first time grants are offered in two categories:

  • Short-term grants of up to $10,000 in one year
  • Multi-year grants with total value up to $30,000 over three years

Applications close: 31 July 2014.
