Aboriginal Family Support Worker (Female)

Part time/Full time

The service will provide individual family support for families who need assistance in further developing parenting skills. It will be an early intervention service with a focus on families with new babies, first time parents and teenage parents. The focus will be on families with children aged 0-8 years.

Essential Criteria:

  • Aboriginality
  • Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and individuals
  • Knowledge of Family Support services and issues
  • Ability to work in a team and unsupervised
  • Computer skills
  • Case management skills
  • Data collection and reporting skills
  • Current Working with Children Check number
  • Current Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a community setting
