Aboriginal Family Support Worker (Female)
Part time/Full time
The service will provide individual family support for families who need assistance in further developing parenting skills. It will be an early intervention service with a focus on families with new babies, first time parents and teenage parents. The focus will be on families with children aged 0-8 years.
Essential Criteria:
- Aboriginality
- Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and individuals
- Knowledge of Family Support services and issues
- Ability to work in a team and unsupervised
- Computer skills
- Case management skills
- Data collection and reporting skills
- Current Working with Children Check number
- Current Drivers Licence
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in a community setting
