It is my very great pleasure to inform you that Ken Habak OAM, Chairman of MCCI, was awarded the 2017 NSW Human Rights Award last night for his more than 45 years of service to multicultural communities in NSW.
The citation for this prestigious award is as follows:
The NSW Human Rights Award pays tribute to a person who has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the advancement of human rights. The NSW Government supports the tireless efforts of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of those less fortunate and this award will provide an opportunity to recognise an exceptional individual in this field.
The Premier, the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP, presented Ken with this award last night at the 2017 Premier’s Harmony Dinner to an audience of around 1,500 people in Sydney at a wonderful celebration of diversity with communities from all over NSW.
Ken was joined by his family and members of the MCCI Management Committee to receive the award. And a great night was had by everyone.
We will have some photos up on the MCCI facebook page later today, so do make sure you go and visit the page… like and share it with your networks https://www.facebook.com/mcci.org.au/
