Our Place Illawarra Shoalhaven is a whole of community, place-based initiative working with communities in social housing estates in four communities – Bellambi since late 2014 and East Nowra, Bundaleer and Warrawong since July 2017.
Our Place is coordinated by Illawarra Shoalhaven Social Investments (ISSIT) which is a collaborative body of government agencies and non-government organisations in the Illawarra Shoalhaven. ISSIT recognises that no one organisation or person can create positive long-term change in communities alone and we welcome all community organisations working with these communities to get involved.
In East Nowra, Bundaleer and Warrawong between now and November 2017 we are listening to community members’ aspirations, concerns, challenges and ideas for change and holding workshops to create community action plans together ready to start work on in 2018.
