We would like to request for your kind assistance in promoting the 10,000 Italian Roses Project to your local community.
There are currently over 10,000 Italian women aged 50- – 74 living in NSW who have not had a mammogram . The 10,000 Italian Roses Project aims to increase the number of Italian women in this group under-go breast screening.
The campaign is run by our friends from the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service (MHCS) in partnership with the Co.As.It. and other key stakeholders with funding from Cancer Institute NSW.
We would love to help you hold a morning tea / community talk to assist in increasing these numbers.
Unfortunately there is no funding attached to any of these activities you may undertake, however we can provide all the materials and information such as:
- Project Information Kits
- Powerpoint presentations in English & Italian
- Project resources
- Links below to examples of video messages from Italian breast cancer survivors & health professionals (Italian GP’s)
We can also provide support and assistance via teleconference if a face-to-face meeting is not possible. We could also help develop a program or event run sheet.
If you are unable to hold a talk, you could help by spreading the word to your staff and volunteers. We would be able to assist you with draft emails & supporting material.
Please contact Nicole Stevens at the Multicultural Health Communication Service on 02 8753 500 or Nicole.Stevens2@health.nsw.gov.au if you have any questions or would like to be involved.
