Each year a Calendar of Events is produced to promote activities held across the Illawarra (Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven) to celebrate and acknowledge International Day of People with Disability.

This year the calendar will cover events held between Monday 19 November to Friday 14 December 2018. Events will reflect the interests and resources of participating organisations.  Previous years’ events and activities have included:

• Surfing, Sailing and Bowling activities
• Art and Photographic Exhibitions
• Promotion of achievements of people with disabilities in the community
• The list is endless …

Each participating organisation will be responsible for the coordination and management (including costs) of their event / activity and will be required to maintain public liability insurance to the value of $10,000,000.

To have your event listed in the calendar, please complete the attached form and return it, with a copy of your Public Liability Insurance by Friday 21 September 2018.

Participating organisations are encouraged to include an electronic photograph or image that you would like promoted alongside your event. If the image is of a person the consent form needs to be completed and returned indicating that you have consent from all the people photographed/ included in the image for inclusion in the calendar as well as consent from the photographer for use of the photo.

A master copy of the calendar will then be forwarded to organisations for printing and distribution to their members. Promotion of the event in the calendar does not preclude your organisation from further promoting your event locally. Wollongong City Council will also be printing off some calendars again this year.
