Supported Decision Making and Risk Enablement within the Aged Care and Disability Sectors

The NSW Public Guardian is holding a number of free workshops in 2019 to improve and increase supported decision making and risk enablement. The workshops are tailored to both front line and management staff across the Aged Care and Disability sectors, with content highly relevant to the incoming Aged Care Standards and NDIS.

The workshops aim to:

  • Build the ability of people with disability to make their own decisions
  • Apply effective steps for providing support for decision making
  • Debate dilemmas and tensions, as well as strategies to address these
  • Discuss upcoming law reform in the Guardianship sector

The NSW Public Guardian has developed the content in partnership with the Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre, Sydney University and La Trobe University, and demand for workshop delivery across the state is high. Click here to register your interest in attending the workshops as locations and placements will be allocated in the new year.
