The South Western Sydney Local Health District Aboriginal Traineeship Program is designed to attract Aboriginal people to entry-level employment across the District to build a sustainable career path in the NSW public health service. The Aboriginal Traineeship Program contributes to our ability to “Close the Gap” in Aboriginal disparity, particularly in the areas of health, employment and education.
The Aboriginal Traineeship Program offers:
- Temporary Full Time paid work placement and agreement for up to 1 year duration. Salary will be in accordance with the Public Hospital (Training Wage) (State) Award and ranges from $18,377 to $34,218 per annum.
- The opportunity to develop skills and gain experience relevant to the role.
- The opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification.
- Structured mentoring and support over the duration of the traineeship.
- Transition to a permanent position may be considered upon successful completion of the traineeship and a review of the incumbents work performance.
All Traineeships will commence in early 2020.
