Boost your career with a short course

Enrol Now

Complete a short course in just a day – from the comfort of your home!

Don’t delay – enrolments are now open for short courses.

Whether you’re starting out, returning to study or furthering your career, TAFE NSW has a course to suit you.

We have introduced a range of proactive measures to limit the impact of COVID-19 and support you in participating in a short course. As a result, the below short courses will be delivered via connected classroom. This is when you will learn with a teacher and other students via web conferencing technology as part of a virtual classroom and are not required to attend a campus. So, you can learn in the comfort of your own home or workplace. It’s different to online learning in that you’ll connect in real-time. All you need is access to a computer and the internet.

If you’re interested in a short course below and it is advertised to run at a Campus you can still enrol and participate via connected classroom.

Green Connect’s Youth Employment Program

“This program has really opened my eyes. Before this I was lost when thinking about what I was going to do with my life. I had a few ideas but this opportunity has really given me a direction. I love working with the people at the farm. I feel connected with the land. And Cal – the farm manager – is an incredible mentor.”

Alyssamay – Green Connect YEIC participant (now working at the Green Connect Farm)

The Green Connect Youth Employment program supports young people to find their place in the world of employment. We start with work experience opportunities at either our farm, Op-Shop or in the office and move onto employment opportunities when the young person is ready.

To be a part of this job opportunity young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are currently unemployed and not enrolled in any training need to register with Green Connect before May 31st.

We only have 10 places left and would love to hear from you!

Please register on the Green Connect website or contact Ann – ann.burbrook@green-connect.com.au or 0436 864 404

“I like the feeling that I’ve accomplished something. I get that everyday working at the farm. This program gives you a chance to prove yourself.”

Lachlan – Green Connect YEIC participant (now working at the Green Connect Farm)

“This program has really helped me find my feet. I have gained independence and confidence. Being part of Green Connect is like being part of a proper family!”

Zack – Green Connect YEIC participant (now working on the Green Connect admin team)

School of Green Living

Our online workshops have had some wonderful feedback. Join us this Saturday for an hour an a half dedicated to soil. Great soil makes for great produce! And who better to learn from than Cal Champagne, our farm manager and permaculture guru.

Tickets are $30.00 and the funds help to support the work that we do in the community, particularly at this difficult time.

Other upcoming workshops include:

  • More permaculture workshops
  • More workshops on growing your own food
  • Sustainable fashion
  • Cooking workshops

How Green Connect is doing and changing

Here’s what’s new at Green Connect:

  • Our office is closed but we’re offering lots of support to staff while working from home
  • Our farm has lots of safety protocols in place to keep everyone physically distancing, practicing excellent hand hygiene and staying home if they have even the slightest sniffle
  • We extended our veg box delivery area as far north as Thirroul
  • We’re offering online workshops so you can still learn great skills from our expert staff
  • Our op shop is moving to a new location (more on that once it is finalised)
  • Our zero waste services are in hibernation while festivals and events aren’t happening, but thanks to JobKeeper we’re able to redeploy staff in other areas
  • Our youth employment program continues but without the work experience component at the farm until it is safe to do so again
  • We’re offering backyard gardens consultations (so if you need expert advice on your garden, let us know!)
  • Our farm development project is going full steam ahead

New service – Backyard Garden Consultations

We have had a few requests for this over the years so I’m excited to announce that we’re now offering garden consultations!

If you would like to have an expert permaculturalist look at your backyard, understand what you’d like to do with it (vegetable gardens? chickens? sustainability?) and come up with a plan that makes the most of the space, aspect and resources you have, book in here
