Kiama Disability Inclusion Action Plan Consultation
Kiama Council residents living with disability, along with their support workers and carers, are encouraged to make their voice heard on Council’s services, programs and amenities.
Council will be holding community consultations via a survey and focus groups, to develop a local Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) in alignment with the requirements of the NSW Disability Inclusion Act (2014).
The new DIAP will cover the period from July 2022 to June 2026.
Our DIAP will provide long-term planning and strategic thinking to help improve access and inclusion across all aspects of our area’s programs, services and infrastructure.
Information about our current DIAP, including Annual Reports on achievements, is available here.
DIAP community consultation sessions
As part of the development of Kiama Council’s next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), we are inviting residents, workers and students to provide feedback and comment on the accessibility of the Kiama Council area through community consultation sessions.
Tell us your ideas and have your say on a key strategy, helping to make our area more accessible for everyone.
We have scheduled four community consultation sessions. Registration is essential.
To register, please click on the date for the session you wish to attend below and fill out your details.

DIAP online survey
You can also have your say on the DIAP via our online survey. The survey takes less than 20 minutes and we’re offering a $100 gift voucher for one lucky survey respondent (to be chosen via a draw) as encouragement to complete the whole survey.
The survey seeks to identify the effectiveness of our current access and inclusion practices, potential areas for improvement and opportunities for new services for people with disability.
