Art4Refugees

2015-08-07 08_51_55-Invitation letter-COPY to artists - 2015 Art4Refugees-2.pdf - Adobe Acrobat ReadThis charity art exhibition and sale is the main annual fundraiser for the work of SCARF – Strategic Community Assistance to Refugee Families.

SCARF is a local volunteer-based organisation that supports refugee families who are establishing a new home and life in Wollongong and the Illawarra.

Our aim is to strengthen community connections between people from refugee backgrounds and the wider community, to promote social harmony and inclusion.

We survive on small grants, public donations and volunteer resources to carry out our work, which offers ongoing support to refugees after government help finishes. See our website http://www.scarf1.org.au/ for details of SCARF’s work.

The show takes place from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, at The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS), on Powell Street, Mangerton. All proceeds from sale of the artworks are used to continue offering SCARF programs and services.

Opening night on Fri 25th Sept is a ticketed event ($35) with a Champagne supper, and cultural performances from SCARF community members.

Opening night gives people wanting to buy art first pick of some beautiful pieces.

We are most grateful for your help in sharing this ‘call-to-artists’ Invitation and Registration Form.
