Can I study Community Services while I work?

The answer is yes!

If you are currently employed in the Community Services sector in the northern Illawarra district, TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute offers a work based learning program that may suit you.

Programs are offered in:

Alcohol & Other Drugs | Community Services Work | Disability Work | Home & Community Care | Lifestyle and Leisure | Youth Work | Community Services Coordination | Case Management | Mental Health | Counselling | Community Development

Courses are offered from Certificate IV to Diploma level, and usually take between 6-12 months to complete.

A feature of the work based learning program is that your study program is customised to suit your particular needs. Your teaching advisor will work with you to design an interesting, relevant learning program. You will also have the opportunity to attend workshops and network with other work based learners.

As part of your training program you will receive recognition for qualifications and skills you already have.
