OneFACS Service Centre | Expression of Interest

I am writing with the exciting news that the OneFACS Service Centre expression of interest (EOI) for all non-government organisations in the Illawarra Shoalhaven District is now open and accessible via the Community Builders website.

In June 2015, the NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) Illawarra Shoalhaven District (ISD) will deliver a state of the art OneFACS Service Centre in Coniston.

The aim of the Centre is to provide an integrated and innovative space where non-government organisations (NGOs) and government agencies can work together to break the cycle of disadvantage for local clients. Through the co-location of the three FACS agencies (Community Services; Ageing, Disability and Home Care; and, Housing NSW) and local human service providers, it is envisaged that the Centre will create collaborative and coordinated responses to endemic social issues in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

To realise these aims, ISD is seeking NGOs who can provide support in the following areas:

  • people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness;
  • people suffering from financial hardship or joblessness, or those at risk;
  • people affected by domestic or family violence;
  • people with disabilities;
  • people with mental illness;
  • people with substance misuse issues;
  • children and youth at risk
  • families at risk; or,
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

All information and documentation regarding the EOI process, including the application form and applicant guide is available on the Community Builders website from 9am Monday,16 March until 2pm on Monday, 13 April 2015. Please note that any applications sent after this time will not be assessed. You DO NOT need to login into the website to complete your application, simply click on the relevant link to the application form.

When completing your application please make sure all the information requested is provided as incomplete applications may not be assessed. Please do not send any attachments with your application as they will not be assessed.

Kiama Aboriginal Reference Group | Expressions of Interest

Kiama Municipal Council invites applications from Aboriginal people who live in the Kiama local government area to join the Aboriginal Reference Group (ARG) as community representatives. Council has now reviewed the Terms of Reference for this group and nominations are invited from individuals for consideration by Council. Functions of the committee can be found on Council’s website.

Expressions of interest are sought from interested persons and will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be residents of the Kiama Local Government Area
  • Applicants must identify as Aboriginal
  • Seek a gender balance on the Reference Group
  • Seek representation from Aboriginal residents across the Kiama LGA
  • Seek age diversity for the Reference Group

The Reference Group will meet bimonthly.

An application form and Terms of Reference are available from http://www.kiama.nsw.gov.au and written submissions to Council will be accepted up to 4.00pm on Friday 28 February 2014. The Aims of the ARG

The Aboriginal Reference Group aims to provide a forum for Aboriginal residents to collaborate with Council to address issues relevant to Aboriginal residents of the Kiama Local Government Area.

If you would like to nominate to be a community representative on the ARG, please download the Terms of Reference and a Nomination Form and submit as outlined on the form.
