Condom Credit Card

Condom Credit CardFamily Planning NSW invites services in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven who work with young people to become partners of the Condom Credit Card (CCC) project.

At each visit to your service the young person shows their card and receives free condoms and water based lubricant. Family Planning NSW provide the condoms and water based lubricant at no cost to services. When the card is finished, young people can get another one.

The CCC is a condom dissemination program that allows young people under the age of 25 FREE access to condoms and water based lubricant across NSW.

The project combines education and condom dissemination using a rewards card concept and provides support to services with free training and resources. The intention of the CCC is to build the capacity of young people so they can make the most informed choices regarding their sexual health.

The CCC utilises the existing relationship workers have with young people and the support training for services that sign up includes an introduction to the CCC , tips on talking to young people about sexual health, how to use a condom demonstration and basic information on STIs and contraception. The CCC allows for condoms to be given out in a structured and supportive way.

Registration to the project is simple for the young person and involves a short consultation with a trained staff member which includes a condom demonstration and the provision of brief information on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and emergency contraception. On completion, participants receive a Condom Credit Card, which resembles a coffee card and is valid for 10 visits.

If you would like to become part of a network of CCC providers across NSW enabling the ongoing support and information sharing for young people around their sexual health please register your interest at www.fpnsw.org.au/ccc or contact Ben Davis on 47490515.
