Hepatitis Awareness Week NSW 2015

Hepatitis Awareness Week NSW 2015 runs from 27 August to 2 July 2015.  This year’s theme is Time to Act because with new treatments soon to become available we want to encourage people to see that now is the Time to Act on viral hepatitis. Final date for applications is 5pm, Friday 1st May 2015.

Now is also the Time to Act on applying for community grants.  Hepatitis NSW is providing grants of up to $2500 to NSW community organisations and health agencies to run activities that aim to raise awareness of viral hepatitis and hepatitis issues.  This includes prevention of transmission, treatment, stigma and discrimination.

All grant applications will be considered and Hepatitis NSW especially encourages creative local approaches for activities that:

  • Target: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Culturally and Linguistically
  • Diverse communities, young people, people who inject drugs and people who are or have been in prison
  • Respond to an identified local need
  • Increase awareness and understanding of viral hepatitis issues
