‘Share the Track – the path is ours to share’ flyer is now available

The Share the Track educational flyer is part of a regional approach to promote the safe use of shared paths for both pedestrians and cyclists within the Illawarra.

The flyer originally designed some years ago was updated late 2015 to include revised shared path etiquette.

Share the Track is a joint initiative between Shellharbour City Council, Kiama Municipal Council, Wollongong City Council, Illawarra Bicycle User Group and Healthy Cities Illawarra.

Learner Drivers

Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers workshop (Learn Safe)

Supervisors of learner drivers are encouraged to attend this workshop to increase their knowledge and confidence in helping their learner become a safer driver. This invaluable workshop provides practical advice regarding:

  • Supervising learner drivers
  • Completing the Learner Driver Log Book
  • Understanding the benefits of supervised on-road driving practice
  • Understanding the license conditions for learners and provisional license holders.

The Ultimate Learner Log Book Run Experience

An opportunity for learners and their supervisors to experience a series of practical and powerful demonstrations whilst gaining log book hours on a planned route.

Includes: planned route through a variety of driving conditions, RBT / RDT, Driver Reviver, Fire Rescue, road safety personal experiences, Crash Investigation and reverse parking tuition, receive a road safety resource folder and go in the draw to win a fuel voucher.

Learner drivers must have a minimum of 40 log book hours.

Learner Log Book Run – Night Time

The Learner Log Book Run is a practical course for learner drivers who have completed a minimum of 40 log book hours. The program provides learner drivers and their supervisors the opportunity to participate in a planned drive which follows a route in the Shellharbour and Kiama regions including a range of driving experiences.

The program reinforces the importance of educating young people early in their driving life about behavioural issues that could one day save their lives. Participants will experience a Random Breath Test (RBT), Driver Reviver rest stop which informs them how to deal with fatigue, Talk with the Police, receive a road safety resource folder and go in the draw to win a fuel voucher.
