Regional NAIDOC Week Awards | Nominations Now Open
The Local Government Regional NAIDOC Week Awards honour and acknowledge outstanding achievement by Aboriginal people and organisations within our regional community, celebrating the best of Aboriginal talent, culture and community.
As part of our commitment to Aboriginal Australians, Wollongong City Council, Shellharbour City Council, Kiama Municipal Council and Shoalhaven City Council organise this event each year to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
The awards are held in July and rotate between each council area.
Shoalhaven City Council will host the awards this year on Saturday 18 July at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
Nominations are now open for the 2015 Regional NAIDOC Awards and will close on Friday 4 July 2014
Nominations will be received for the following categories:
- Elder of the Year (Female & Male)
- Community Representative of the Year
- Young Achiever of the Year (Female & Male)
- Worker of the Year
- Organisation of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution to Reconciliation

NAIDOC Week Awards Dinner 2013
Tickets for this year’s Regional Local Government NAIDOC Awards Dinner are NOW ON SALE from Shellharbour City Council. Please call 4221-6170 and speak to Lisa Norwell on how to purchase tickets.
The NAIDOC Awards Dinner is being hosted by Wollongong City Council this year on behalf of the other four participating Councils, Wingecarribee, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven.
The Dinner will be held at Portofino’s, Wollongong on Saturday, 13th July 2013 doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Cost per ticket is $50 which includes:
- Canapés, coffee and tea on arrival
- Gourmet 3 Course Meal
- Entertainment
- Award Presentation
There are tables of 10 available for Organisations/Agencies to purchase or you can purchase individually. When you purchase your tickets could you please advise if you require any special dietary needs.
There is only 450 tickets available, so please purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
NAIDOC Awards 2013
The Regional Local Government NAIDOC Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday, 13th July 2013 at Portofino’s, Wollongong.

All completed forms should be forwarded to Jody Clark, Aboriginal Community Development Worker from Wollongong City Council, details are included on the Nomination forms.
There are so many inspirational Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our communities and this is an opportunity to acknowledge their contributions.
